Terms of Use

By using TeaTonight you agree to these Terms. Links to our Privacy Policy and these Terms are available in the app under Me → Legal Terms.

Using the app

TeaTonight is a meal planning app for personal, household use. You may not use it for commercial purposes or attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute any part of it.

You need to be at least 13 years old to use TeaTonight.

Your content

Recipes and meal plans you create in TeaTonight belong to you. We make no claim of ownership over your content.

Your content is stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, backed up to your personal iCloud account via Apple CloudKit. We do not keep a copy on our own servers. If you are not signed in to iCloud, your recipes and plans exist only on that device and will be lost if the device is lost — the app will tell you when this is the case, but keeping a backup is your responsibility.

You can delete everything at any time from Me → Delete My Data. TeaTonight has no accounts and no sign-in, so there is no account to close.

Importing recipes

TeaTonight can create a recipe from a photo you take, an image from your library, or a link you paste.

How it works. To do this, the photo or the link is sent to our processing service, which uses Anthropic's Claude AI to read the recipe and return it in TeaTonight's format. For a link, our service fetches the page rather than your device, so the page is retrieved by us on your behalf. Your photo, the page contents, and the recipe are used only to fulfil that request — they are not stored, logged, or used to train any AI model. What we send contains nothing that identifies you.

Accuracy. Recipes produced this way are generated automatically and may contain mistakes — including in quantities, times, and temperatures. Where measurements are converted between metric and imperial, the results are approximations intended for cooking, not precise conversions. Always check an imported recipe against its source before cooking from it.

Rewriting. Imported recipes are restructured and reworded rather than copied, and never include photographs from the source.

What you may import. You may only import recipes you own or are otherwise authorised to use, and only from pages you are entitled to access. You are responsible for respecting the terms of any website you import from. Do not use the import feature to reproduce or redistribute someone else's collection of recipes.

Fair use. Importing is subject to daily limits to keep the service running for everyone. These limits are not published and may change.

Availability. Importing depends on services we do not control and may be slowed, limited, or unavailable at times. It is not guaranteed.

Sharing

TeaTonight lets you share a recipe as text. You are responsible for what you choose to share and for having the right to share it.

Device permissions

Some features ask for access to your camera, photo library, notifications, or Reminders. Each is optional, used only for the feature you asked for, and can be changed at any time in iOS Settings. If you export a shopping list, TeaTonight writes those items to your Reminders app; what happens to them after that is governed by Apple.

TeaTonight Plus

Plus is an optional subscription that unlocks additional features, including recipe import. It is billed annually at £19.99 (or local equivalent) through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.

New subscribers may be offered a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts to a paid annual subscription automatically. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you subscribe before it ends.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled in accordance with Apple's standard refund policy.

Deleting your data in TeaTonight does not cancel your subscription. To avoid future charges, cancel it separately through your App Store settings. We are unable to issue refunds for charges already taken.

Which features are included in Plus, and any limits on the free version, may change as the app develops.

Disclaimer

TeaTonight is provided "as is." We make no warranties regarding uninterrupted availability or fitness for any particular purpose. Recipe information — whether written by you, imported, or included with the app — is provided for convenience. Always use your own judgement regarding food safety, allergens, and dietary requirements.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Sasha Lantukh Design is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the app changes. The date at the top shows when they were last revised, and continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
